This is Kismet
At 122 metres, Kismet stands as a showcase of Lürssen craftsmanship, pairing Nuvolari Lenard exterior lines with Reymond Langton Design interiors and a groundbreaking hybrid propulsion system.
History
Construction began in late 2020 under the project name Project Jag, with the hull launched on 22 June 2021 at Lürssen's Rendsburg facility, followed by an extensive fitting-out period. Sea trials took place off Kiel, Germany, and the yacht was delivered to her owner in April 2024. Construction oversight was provided by Moran Yacht & Ship, a firm with an established relationship with the client. This vessel represents the third Lürssen build for the same owner, following two earlier, smaller yachts delivered by the yard. Since her delivery, Kismet has collected numerous industry accolades, including recognition as Motor Yacht of the Year 2025.
Design
The exterior styling was created by the Venice-based studio Nuvolari Lenard, responsible for the lines of numerous Lürssen superyachts. Her sharply pointed bow carries a molten-steel jaguar figurehead crafted by the Taiwanese workshop Aritex. Built on a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, Kismet spans five to six decks and draws 4.4 metres. Exterior amenities include multiple jacuzzis and fire pits, a winter garden, and a mosaic-lined pool with a transparent aft wall, all arranged across generous deck spaces. The result balances substantial volume with a sleek, elongated profile.
Interiors
Interior design was entrusted to Reymond Langton Design, whose team has described the concept for Kismet as blending classical grandeur with a futuristic edge. Every surface received bespoke attention, including feature ceilings milled from solid aluminium and hand-finished by California studio Neal Feay, integrating lighting and speakers. The main saloon features a hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper as a centrepiece of the decor. Wellness facilities include a spa with sauna, hammam and cryotherapy chamber, alongside a yoga studio designed around a Balinese-inspired, serene atmosphere.
Technical Features
Kismet is powered by twin MTU 20V 4000 M73L diesel engines paired with Reintjes gearboxes fitted with PTI/PTO hybrid technology, a first for the Lürssen yard. A bank of Corvus batteries allows roughly fifteen minutes of fully silent electric cruising, or sustained running at around seven knots without direct emissions, useful for leaving harbour or approaching sensitive marine environments. Top speed reaches 18 knots, with a range of 6,000 nautical miles at a 12-knot cruising speed. The yacht measures 4,918 gross tons and is built and classed to Lloyd's Register standards.
