Rising Sun is a majestic 138-metre motor yacht with a beam of 19 metres. Sailing under the flag of the Cayman Islands, she remains one of the world's iconic superyachts.

History

Commissioned from the German shipyard Lürssen, the vessel was built at their facilities in Bremen. Her delivery was completed in 2004 following a sophisticated construction process. She stands as the final major design masterpiece crafted by the legendary Jon Bannenberg before his passing. Her arrival represented a landmark milestone in modern custom superyacht building.

Design

Naval architecture was engineered in-house by the technical teams at Lürssen. Her distinctive exterior styling was created by the renowned studio Bannenberg & Rowell Design. The internal layout and decorative concept were authored by Seccombe Design. Her structural integrity relies on a steel displacement hull paired with an aluminium superstructure.

On board

The vessel spans five decks featuring extensive glass walls that maximize interior natural light. Deck facilities include a multi-purpose basketball court that doubles as a landing pad for helicopters. An extensive swimming pool and a climate-controlled wine cellar are integrated into her layout. Powered by four diesel engines, she reaches a top speed of 28 knots.
